We follow activity based learning. Our teacher strives to transform education into an art that educates the whole child – the heart, the hands and the head. Elements of rhythm and movement, verse and recitation wake the child up to the subject before the teach session ingrains the concept. This ensures the children come to deskwork with heads, hearts and hands already enlivened. This is followed by an activity or doing session which is artistic and appeals to the feeling of the child. Each Main Lesson is carefully and rhythmically structured to ensure that the children listen, work independently, participate and think. This would include performance, painting, handwork and storytelling and alongside writing and drawing.
Subjects offered
Manipulators and aids for Math, Creative writing and engaging role play in English, Tamil, Nature stories and walks in Science are an everyday feature.
The subjects offered are English, Tamil, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Theatre, Hindi or Tamil, Social Studies. Apart from this children have classes once in a week for Handwriting, Art, Mindfulness, Karate / Silamabam, Classical/western, Music, Current Affairs and Sports.
Reading Program
Reading Programme not only ensures that your child masters the full suite of 8 essentials skills of reading that are essential but to instill a champion mindset for confidence and higher order thinking. Through positive motivation, your child will develop genuine interest and excitement to read. Since practice makes perfect, the more your child reads, the more fluent he/she will become at it. Word sounds are taught by blending graphemes and phomemes. This enables your child to understand the meaning and context of each word, so he/she becomes more confident in expressing him/her self.
Writing programme
Writing programme focuses on the understanding and creative aspects of writing, rather than attempting to force a mechanical approach, before the child has internalised the all-important desire to write.
